The super-efficient frame is a gem to ride and its responses are
instant – your extra effort never goes unrewarded. And the spec is high
quality throughout – all good. The only thing you need to ask yourself
is whether you’ll be happy with the bike’s flat-backed riding position.
If you prefer a more relaxed set-up, steer clear. But if you’re down
with getting down, the Cube is a fabulous proposition.
Admittedly
it’s a little more expensive than similar Shimano 105-equipped bikes,
but the Shimano Ultegra SL group is worth the extra. If you're happy to

Did the run last Thursday 24th June 2010, what an EPIC it is... 2.5 hours to the top pushing my Meta 6 160/160 up to the top, a hefty beast at that 35lbs or so but the right bike for it, just wish my Playmate was built up also be like bouncing down on a pogo stick.... me Wotans were about 5mm off full bottom out and my body felt the same totally out of place.... Just amazing.. and have a nic wee bruise on my HIP also as a souvenier... Scott Orr, until the next time....

If you can do the black at Laggan you should be ok - not really any more technical than the harder sections there, although the steepness of some sections can make it a bit trickier. My usual "hang off the back and pray" approach worked fine.

I found the hardest bits those where you could pick up speed - there are some great sections you can really fly down with a bit of a pedal, but watch out as they can get steeper and rockier pretty quickly. My arms had it by that point so that's where I went wrong. Oh, take lots of food too! We only had a pack of fig rolls between 4 of us; not ideal when you've just pushed a bike up a mountain!

JohnPaul, sorry for not replying sooner - not sure how good you are so you may well find it easy. I'd wear body armour just in case though; certainly if you plan on giving it some (and you will want to!). Best bit was just the experience though - with exception of Fort Bill Dh track I've never ridden down anything so high, so its just a great day out really. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Haven't got to the BMX section or the POC stand yet but we have seen loads of internal gearbox bikes this year. We've even ridden 3 so will be bringing you a round up soon.

In the meantime I'm off to hunt down some sexy race BMX's for ya ;)

sound awesome, I take it body armours essential then? walked up the ptarmigan track on the ben before and thought the tourist track looked toffee to ride down from afar for someone not so technically gifted as myself but seems i'm very much mistaken though! well done lads sure I will conquer it soon enuf

I've also added a plugin that integrates comments with facebook (we should be able to do this on my.freeflowbikes.com too). This means peoples comments are published to their facebook wall. Cool huh?
